GIGHI – Street artist

Lotta di galli

Gighi is a likeable Italian artist who has brought to Tenerife (where he has been living for some time) a painting technique that he has named Flash Art. He first came across this new technique in 1990, on Easter day, in a park of the city of Salice Terme (Italy). There, he met a painter called Francesco Mancini who wasn’t using paint brushes for his work, as all painters do, but a painting roller and a palette knife! He used these tools with great dexterity and ease being able to produce a finished painting in virtually no time.

Gighi got so mesmerized by this craft and by the humble but magical painting roller that, in a few days time, he began to work with it, making shapes and signs and conjuring up images on the paper. He realized that it was a new concept of painting, direct and immediate.

Nowadays, he works with Flash Art in Tenerife by the sea side, like a modern Robinson Crusoe, surrounded by people of different countries and cultures who speak different languages but who, nevertheless, understand the universal language of art. His paintings, full of color and feeling, are displayed at his studio in Valle San Lorenzo, in the south of Tenerife.

You too can become a painter in 15 days for a price as low as that of a pizza. You’ll gain a new skill that you can pass on to your grandchildren. Discover the artist in you. You just have to believe in yourself and use your imagination. Try it and you won’t regret it !

Flash Art will change your life.
